What species can we find ? (source : Fédération de pêche en Indre et Loire)
> The Loire River : More than 20 species are living in the Loire such as blobs, tanks, roaches or bleaks...
The carnivore fishes are eels, pike perch’s, brown bullheads and a lot of pikes.
This river is also crossed by migratory fishes and especially Atlantic salmons and sea trouts which are forbidden to fish. We can find some lampreys and shads but less and less eels.
> The Cher River: Still water species are living in the Cher : bleaks, tanks, roaches… Few barbells, blobs are also possible to fish.
The carnivore fishes are pike perchs, brown bullheads and common perchs but less and less pikes.
The Cher River is a migratory axis especially for sea trouts, eels, shads, and lampreys. Barriers across river are working in progress to help the clearing’s fishes.
The Cher River is one of the most populated rivers because of its wide accessibility. By the way, some little rivers like the « Filet » or the « petit Cher » are very good for leisure fishing notably at the confluence with the Cher River.
