Les Bateliers du Cher |
|
Through the construction of a medieval boat, come to discover the patrimony of the Cher.
Located in the city center of Savonnieres at the edge of the Cher River and on the track of the Loire à Vélo bicycles tours, the association of the « Bateliers du Cher » created in 1992, proposes you to learn more about the roots of the traditional river boats. To illustrate this art, you can discover the building place where a brand new boat will be remake from the medieval techniques. You can meet the workers each 1st and 3rd saturdays of the month.
Nowadays the association counts around ten traditional boats and to appreciate the building methods, the Bateliers du Cher offer you commented cruises from 30 to 40 minutes.

Loire Vélo Nature, professional of ecotourism, proposes you the canoes rental (depart from Savonnières), trips with Aquacycles, exploring nature and patrimony, », organizing stays, Incentive days for groups…
Aquacycles, sort of boat with pedals, are proposed from Easter to All Saint’s Day with 3 possibilities of departures: the morning, the afternoon and the evening. During 3 hours the bilingual guide will take you to the conquest of Loire’s Islands and its fauna and flora. There you will taste the local products.
