The Gardens of Ussé
The Gardens of Ussé are among the most beautiful gardens of Touraine, they were fitted out by the families of Valentinay, which realized the construction of the terrace by means of Vauban, whose girl Jeanne had married in 1691 Louis II Bernin de Valentinay. The terrace gardens of Ussé were drawn by Ours, creative of the gardens of Versailles. The construction of the Orangery dates 1664. We can admire in the gardens of Ussé, a beautiful collection of citrus fruits, orange trees and lemon trees which the oldest were already present before the Revolution.
The Chateau of Ussé belongs to Duke de Blacas today who lives with his family there.
