The Royal Château of Amboise welcomes you every day of the year (excepting 1st January and 25th December). This emblematic monument and its landscaped gardens offer one of the most remarkable panoramas of the Loire valley, and are registered as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Each visit has its own special way of looking at this renowned site of French History: its political and artistic importance within Europe in the Renaissance period; private moments in the lives of its Kings and Queens; daily life in Court and behind the scenes.

Visit of the Royal House, the Chapel (Leonardo da Vinci’s tomb) and the gardens.

Visit at your own rhythm :
Individuals can discover the château and its gardens at their own pace with the aid of an explanatory sheet. Sheet available in: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Czech, Korean, Romanian, Chinese (traditional & simplified).

Guided visits :
Guided tours in French (and in Italian during the month of August) organised continually throughout the day, depending on the number of visitors (group of maximum 50 visitors).

Visit the Château with your family

Bilingual (French-English) illustrated visit leaflet for our younger visitors The Royal Château of Amboise was the kings’ childhood playground. Charles VIII, François I and the children of King Henri II and Catherine de’ Medici were brought up here.
So, our younger visitors, aged between 7 and 14, may discover in their own way «How the kings and queens of France grew up » with the help of an illustrated visit leaflet full of anecdotes and games.
