For 150 years, the village of Villaines-les-Rochers has been noted for its basket making entreprise.
In fact, this village's basket production accounts for one third of total french basket making.
The principal reason for this, is that the nature of the ground and the climate provide the conditions which the culture and working of the wicker is best suited to.
The cooperative offers to visitors of Villaines-les-Rochers the opportunity to see the work of the basket makers and buy baskets.

A permanent exhibition allows the purchase of a local quality production.
The basketwork offers a big flexibility, the possibility of realizations on measure and a wide line of products, from the simple basket to the nacelle of hot-air balloon.
60 basket makers work on the cooperative, in workshops opened to the visitors.
